Mr. Yuthasak is a top executive by trade and an economist by education. He has more than 20 years of experience in management positions at various Thai government agencies and state-run organisations with his last position prior to joining the TAT being the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MCOT Public Company Limited, which is a leading state-run public broadcaster in Thailand.
Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, with a Ph.D. in Economics from Keio University, Japan, started off in 1996 as an Investment Promotion Officer at the Office of the Board of Investment. Afterwards he moved to the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board where he worked as a Policy and Planning Analyst for 2 years. He then later moved to the National Food Institute under the Ministry of Industry where he became President in 2007. Two years later, he transferred to be the Director General of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion, which is also under the Ministry of Industry. He worked in this position for 2 years and then moved to the Regional Development Center, Institute for Good Governance Promotion where he assumed the position as a Senior Advisor of the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission. From January to July 2015, he was an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the MCOT Public Company Limited. Mr. Supasorn has been the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand since September 2015.
